After earning a B.A. in Spanish and English, I taught English abroad through the Fulbright program, earned my TEFL certification, spent a summer perfecting my Spanish during a Middlebury Language School session, and completed an M.A. in Spanish. In addition to serving as a Spanish TA, I have also worked as an ESL writing instructor at the post-secondary level, an adult ESL instructor in the non-profit sector, and as a freelance writing tutor for high school and university students.
My love for teaching language from both a communicative and technical angle to both native and non-native speakers has helped me to identify my three passions: (1) transforming Spanish and ESL learners into confident communicators, (2) guiding students through the essay writing process and building mastery in both reading fluency and analytical skills, and (3) equipping students with the necessary study, time, and organizational skills that will make them successful in school and beyond.
I firmly believe that everyone is capable of achieving great things when they have an effective and supportive network cheering them on! We all know that the celebration of small victories plays a pivotal role in the learning process, and I strive to do this during all of my sessions and with all of my students. Whether teaching the young or young at heart, my encouraging words will help students feel at ease and capable of success.
I look forward to providing you the best of my teaching and mentoring skills while giving you the most individualized set of lessons and strategies possible that produce results. Muchsimas gracias, and I hope to have the opportunity to partner with you!
