I believe that learning is a collaborative process between the teacher and learner and that both can learn from one another. I demonstrate how to work through problems and then giving students some independence to try it out themselves while standing by for support. I have an immense passion for mathematics, specifically probability and statistics, and the Chinese language, as I'm a native Mandarin speaker. I also have a passion for test prep, such as the actuarial Exam FM (Financial Mathematics) and Exam P (Probability), SAT and ACT Math, and GRE Quantitative.
A current statistics graduate student at Columbia University, I hold a bachelor of science in actuarial science from Michigan State University (MSU). While at MSU, I taught college algebra as well as tutored in the campus mathematics learning center, which spawned my passion for teaching and tutoring, and took the initiative to share my own knowledge and education with others and help them learn. I'm incredibly excited to help you strengthen your understanding of these subjects (and more!) and, perhaps, even develop a passion or respect for them as well.
