Knowledge, learning, and understanding are true passions for me. Too often I see the education system ruin the joy of learning for students. I hope to play some small role in transforming our education system for the better.
To do this, I seek to foster creativity and critical thinking skills which will not only help students come away from tutoring sessions satisfied, but also knowing how to teach themselves in the future.
I graduated from American University in Spring of 2018, with a degree in political science. After I graduated I realized I wanted nothing to do with the world of political science and decided to pursue a dream I had nursed since I was a child: to become a teacher.
I have now been tutoring for over a year, and I have learned a considerable amount in that time as I hone my craft and pedagogy.
I am now currently enrolled in the Graduate Teacher Certification Program at Catholic University, with a focus in high school social studies. As I learn from this program, I apply the insights and strategies to my sessions with students.
I have a strong passion for learning and teaching history, language arts, and writing skills. These are my passions in life, and I would love to help others gain insight, understanding, and perhaps even a passion for these subjects and more.
For adult learners: I have substantial experience tutoring with adults in all the subjects listed on my profile along with basic computer skills, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access.
In my spare time, I love to write, read, hike, cook, and engage in community building within my neighborhood
