Hello! My name is Jeremy. I have been speaking, reading, and occasionally, writing Chinese-Mandarin for over thirteen years since my enrollment and subsequent graduation from the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, CA. I hold an Associate of Arts in Chinese-Mandarin from DLI and an Associate of Applied Sciences in Communications Applications Technology from the Community College of the Air Force.
My primary concentrations in undergraduate work included philosophy (East Asian and Western), energy technology and sustainable design, interdisciplinary work in environmental studies and architectural studies, and business. I hold a BA in Environmental Studies from Amherst College.
I am currently involved in summer graduate studies in theology at Creighton University, hold a CORe business certificate from Harvard Business School's HBX program, and am planning to begin full-time graduate work in a dual MA/MBA engineering and business program in the Fall and Spring of 2019/20.
I offer lessons in Chinese-Mandarin reading, writing, speaking, and listening; including integrative lessons in Chinese culture, geography, history, politics, and philosophy. My students use a variety of learning resources and supplemental materials and I tailor my lessons to suit the linguistic and learning-style needs of each individual based on experience and education level. I can teach in both English and Mandarin if need be, but prefer to begin the first few lessons speaking English. I teach students K-12, undergraduate, graduate, post-graduate, and up. Children, adolescents, and adults are welcome. Please be in touch for a lesson if you'd like to learn Chinese!
