I was born in Colorado, but didn't necessarily grow up here. I've been fortunate enough to spend most of my life moving and traveling around the world, including stints in Australia, the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and Central America. The diversity of cultures and concepts I was exposed to early and often set me up for a life of insatiable curiosity, as well as a passion for passing on my discoveries to others.
Settling back in Colorado for college, I opted to pursue degrees in Journalism and Critical Studies, chasing my love of reading, writing, and critical interpretation. After a four-year stint opening and running Cuban restaurants after graduating, I returned to school for my Master's degree in Global Affairs and International Business Management. Since finishing up this degree in 2017, I've worked in consulting and non-profit management in Phoenix, Peru, Paris, and Panama.
While in graduate school, I worked as a graduate writing tutor within Arizona State University's robust and rigorous tutoring network. With my school's focus on international business, a majority of the students I assisted did not speak English as a first language; and tutoring in this vein became a specialty-within-a-specialty.
While working with students on their reading comprehension and writing proficiency is my greatest strength, I'm highly versatile. From social studies to world history, business management to critical literary interpretation, chances are I'll be able to assist you beyond the baseline you're looking for. I am comfortable working with students of all ages. I look forward to meeting you!
