I've lived in Japan for 2 years. Before that, I studied Japanese at the University of MN for 3 years. I have a B.A. in Linguistics as well as a minor in Japanese and a minor in TESL/TEFL. In Japan, I lived in the countryside teaching English to children ages 5-15 at the local schools. Teaching and language are passions of mine. I enjoy sharing knowledge, and every day I spent working with students, I felt like I learned something new. Language is a great subject to study. Not only is it fun, but it opens a window to lives in other parts of the world. When we compare those lifestyles to our own, we learn more about humanity and who we are.
In my free time, I like reading, playing video games, playing table top games with my friends. In Japan, I started doing traditional Japanese archery, which is something I've thought about continuing here.
