I recently graduated from University of California, Davis with a B.A in English. I chose English because of a life long love of reading literature. Due to the fact that I am fresh from the education scene as a student, I understand the struggles that many students face as they tackle their daily assignments. My tutoring style stems from my study of English, as it relies heavily upon critical thinking skills and personal experience. As I teach, I try to direct students to answers by asking them guiding questions to get them thinking about the text in their own way, rather than my way. English can be a very subjective subject, so it is the perfect place to begin to foster these kinds of thinking skills. From there, I can help them solidify these thoughts into cohesively written ideas within essays so they can get their points across in a concise and effective manner. I'm passionate about helping students in this area of study because it is something that I love and feel will help students grow not only in academia, but personally as well. Outside of tutoring, I enjoy drawing and painting, as well as playing volleyball.
