Science has always been my passion, and I hope to share a bit of it with you! It started when I was in high school and had my first experience in a laboratory setting. I caught the research bug and continued on through graduate school at the University of California, San Francisco. Along the way, I completed my Bachelor of Science degree in Biotechnology and minor in Chemistry at the University of Kentucky while working with viruses, stem cells, cancer, Drosophila, and everything in between! During my time in the lab, I realized that I loved talking about science and explaining the inner workings of biology. Many students aren't shown how amazing it is that so many working parts come together to make the world we are today. By demonstrating these concepts on a relatable level, I hope to make any aspect of science more approachable and even enjoyable. The same goes for mathematics. We use math everyday of our lives without even knowing it. By breaking down the concepts and showing their applicability, I help students put the scary problems in their place. In addition to teaching science and math, I also enjoy guiding students through the maze of college admissions and standardized testing of all kinds. The process doesn't have to be intimidating and I do my best to break down each step into a bite size piece.

While I'm not thinking about science, I'm an old soul that loves to enjoy life! As a former competitive dancer and teacher, I try to catch jazz or ballet classes (or catch a show at the SF Ballet) every so often. I also love traveling and attempting to recreate the delicious food I've experienced on my trips. With the rest of my time, you can find me reading a book, exercising, crafting, or at a concert poorly signing along.
