Hello, I am Norah. I received my bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Miami in May 2017.
Although my degree is not in teaching, it is something I love to do. I worked at a summer camp with a child with Autism. In addition, I worked as an academic interventionist in Miami Dade County. Through these experiences, I have worked with children of all ages.
My favorite subjects to teach are English and reading. These are my favorite because the intricacies of the English language are very interesting once one understands them. I remember struggling with the language and the "aha moment" when it finally clicked. However, it is just as fun to help students in sociology, statistics or any other math.
I believe every student can learn, thus, the material should be presented in a manner that best makes sense to them.
When I'm not tutoring I love to listen to music. I play the saxophone and clarinet, so I am often transcribing songs for these instruments. Being that I am a south Florida native, I also enjoy going to the beach and going to some of Florida's nature parks. Lastly, I love sports! I enjoy watching them with my family and friends. My favorite sports are basketball, soccer and football. Fun fact: I flew out to Boston JUST to watch Paul Pierce retire his jersey. I'm a DEDICATED fan.
I can't wait to help you reach your fullest potential.
