I want to teach because I have always had a heart for the upcoming generations. I have been babysitting, nannying, tutoring, and teaching since I was 16 years old. I started nannying for a homeschooled family, which gave me opportunities to teach the children I worked with. I went to school in a concurrent enrollment hands-on program for Early Childhood Development my Junior and Senior year of high school, during which time I also volunteered for Reading Partners. I took one year and the following summer off after high school to work in a church's preschool program where I co-taught a class of 14 toddlers. I left the program to go back to school and pursue full time my goal of having a classroom of my own. During my first year at Oral Roberts University, I got to take a practicum class where I tutored twice a week with Reading Partners again. I also got the chance to substitute for a third grade class with the Junior Achievement program for an entire day. I am excited to further my career and education in tutoring and teaching with Varsity Tutors.
