I am currently a second year mathematics major with minors in music and data science at Northeastern University. Last year, I volunteered as a tutor at Squashbusters, which is a program in Boston for middle and high school students. Additionally, I was a peer tutor in high school and worked one-on-one with several students during my first year of college. When I tutor a student, I love seeing the moment that something "clicks". I find that a lot of confusion with content, especially in mathematics, is because the student only learned how to do something, not why it should be done. By learning the underlying reasons for why stuff is, it is far easier to connect the content with other things that have been learned.
