I am a graduate of California State University, Fullerton, where I received my Bachelor of Arts in History, with a minor in Economics. Also, I earned a Master of Science in Instructional Design and Technology.
Additionally, I completed graduate-level coursework in American Studies, Theology and Intercultural Studies.
I like to learn and am curious about the world.
I enjoy traveling and even worked as a travel agent for a couple of years. I've been to Europe multiple times, including a multi-month stay in Germany as a student, where I fed pigs and lived with a German family on their farm. Other international travel has included trips to Central America, Canada, and Thailand.
My teaching experience includes serving as a teaching assistant and a writing tutor at CSUF, teaching SAT prep for The Princeton Review, offering technology trainings to faculty and students at Fuller Graduate School, and developing online courses for non-profit organizations.
For me, learning works best when it includes actively engaging with the subject matter (instead of passively "consuming" content), having opportunities to interact with instructors and other students, and when you're not afraid to be yourself or to make mistakes.
That's why I am a big believer in tutoring. It's just so easy to get lost and lose interest in a big class. To have a tutor pay attention to you and work with you at your pace can make a huge difference.
I love the outdoors and enjoy swimming, hiking, backpacking, skiing, SCUBA diving, kayaking, gardening, and photography. I also like to read, listen to music, and play the drums.
