Hi,

I am a veteran educator of 29 years. Most of my time was spent teaching second grade; however, I also taught grades 1,3,5, and 7. I also possess a specialization in reading and a kindergarten endorsement. I am certified to teach all subjects through grade 8. I am highly experienced in teaching language arts and phonics. I received my Bachelor's degree from Baylor University and my Master's degree from Tarleton State University. My Master's degree is in Curriculum&Instruction-Instructional Design and Technology.

I currently entertain children through music. I love doing this. I have created my own program entitled Cool School With Ms. Maria, and I use this platform to perform at daycares, preschools, and libraries. I also perform music of yesteryear to senior citizens.

I have wonderful rapport with children and am an organized, efficient, and dependable person. I absolutely love writing poetry and songs. In my spare time, I like to walk, travel, spend time with family and friends, read, and country western dance.
