I'm a driven Spanish teacher with a passion for linguistics and culture. I view a language as a means of communication, and emphasize its qualities as such, but also as a vehicle for the culture of the people that speak it.
I graduated from Bluffton High School in 2014 and went on to attend Miami University with a double major in Spanish Education and Spanish, where I graduated in May 2018. In spring of 2016 I lived abroad in Granada, Nicaragua where I learned a lot about the culture and greatly improved my Spanish skills. In fall of 2017 I completed an independent study as my capstone regarding the use of authentic texts in students learning an additional language. During my final semester there I student taught at Princeton High School in Spanish and ESL Support classes focusing on Spanish-speaking students.
In my spare time I like to spend time with my friends and family. I also enjoy listening to pretty much every kind of music you can think of, going on walks/bike rides, and reading books.
