I am a graduate of the University of Phoenix. I received my Masters of Education in Special Education with a focus on mild to moderate disabilities. Since graduation, I have worked in public, charter, and international schools and traveled extensively, tutoring and teaching children in grades K - 12; adults in California and Arizona (I earned my CELTA certificate for teaching English); and private clients in the gulf region.
While I have taught and tutored a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about reading, writing, and basic math. In my experience helping struggling students perform well in school, we always seem to have the most fun by measuring their personal progress.
I am a firm proponent of education, while believing it's important to communicate to students that there are many ways that they too are smart and their worth isn't measured only by school success, and I try to impart this belief to all of my students.
The only failure is when we don't try. In my spare time, I enjoy reading and traveling.
