I am a student at Pepperdine University in Malibu, CA, currently in pursuit of an English degree with a secondary education credential.
During my time at Pepperdine, I have worked as a tutor at Camp David Gonzales for incarcerated youth, assisting with English, Social Studies, Sciences, and Math in both one-on-one and group settings. I strive to serve my school and its mission statement as a member of the Pepperdine Ambassadors Council and the Assistant Philanthropy Chair for my sorority's charity, St. Jude. I also am a staff writer for the Pepperdine Graphic, providing articles for the Perspectives and Humans of Pepperdine sections. Throughout the 2017-2018 academic year, I have been studying abroad in Heidelberg, Germany, where I have worked as a house office worker and at an after-school program for young German children.
For two years I have run my own personal blog, https://vivainverse.wordpress.com/, where I post in a variety of prose and poetic styles. In my spare time I enjoy long-distance running, yoga, trying out new vegetarian/vegan recipes, and spending time with family.
With the experience I have acquired, I feel that working directly with students would allow me to apply my skills in writing, rhetoric, grammar, and literature for the betterment of others' education. I am available to discuss opportunities or inquiriss at your convenience via email or phone. My contact information is below, and I look forward to hearing from you.
