At the age of fourteen, I was forced away from my parents and sent to live in Japan by myself. I had almost no family, and did not know how to speak, read, or write Japanese. Four years later, I graduated at the top of my class from the most prestigious high school in my prefecture, and came back to America a new person.
With devotion and determination, I was able to teach myself the Japanese language in ten months and earn my admission into my dream high school. There, I became fluent in the language and took my mostly AP level curriculum in Japanese. Four years later, I moved back to the United States in fall of my senior year, where I had one chance to take the ACT. Through months of intensive studying, I learned the exam and was able to obtain a score that earned my acceptance into several Ivy League universities, as well as the university I currently attend.
In this way, I make visions come to life. I can overcome highly challenging scenarios that most people cannot. After learning how to accustom myself to a culture so different from my own, I adapt easily to new and unfamiliar environments. I now welcome change and see it as an opportunity.
Today, I am an ambitious Marketing and Finance double major and International Business minor at the Washington University in St. Louis, where I apply my strengths to my work every day. Having worked to master the Japanese and English languages as well as standardized testing such as the ACT and SAT subject tests, I am confident that I can help you achieve and exceed your goals!
