I have been teaching for twelve years now with all of my experiences being in middle school. I graduated from Georgia State University with a bachelors degree in English, I received my Masters degree from Walden University in Education, and completed my Specialists degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Lincoln Memorial. I begin working on my doctoral degree, but I decided to take a break for just a little while. I started tutoring children for fun several years ago when my friends would ask me to help their kids and it was easy for me, so I decided to start a tutoring program at my church for the community and it has been going well. I love Language Arts and I have found that I have the most success in helping students in that area.

Though I am a middle school teacher much of my tutoring experience is with elementary aged students, not including the tutoring that I have done at my own school. I believe my philosophy is simple, once students understand and trust they are willing to work just a little bit harder. They are more willing to discuss the areas that they struggle in order to get the help that they need.

Outside of teaching and tutoring, I truly love to read. When my work load gets heavy I do not get an opportunity to read as much as Id like to! My favorite place to read is of course on the beach which satiates my need for travel! I love to travel to new places and try new things! It is my sincere hope and desire to share my passion and perhaps it will ooze out to each student I cross paths with.
