I am a 4th year medical student, a lifelong learner, and I am passionate about helping my colleagues and fellow students to better understand the world. While the biological sciences (Biology, Anatomy and Physiology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Pharmacology, Pathology) are my primary fields of expertise, I also dabble in philosophy and sociology. My absolute favorite subject to teach is pharmacology because it beautifully interlinks all of the biological sciences listed above - if you understand how a drug works, then you will understand why, where, how it relates to anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, and pathologic processes.
I like to teach using visual references (whiteboard drawings and lists), mnemonics, teach/teach-back methods, and plenty of humor.
I graduated from Wichita State University in 2015 with my degree in General Studies: Chemistry emphasis, with minors in Biology and Health Sciences. I currently attend American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine, where I have previously served as a Teaching Assistant in the Anatomy Lab and for the Pharmacology class.I scored a 241 on USMLE Step 1, passed the USMLE Step 2 CS, and am awaiting my USMLE Step 2 CK score. Applications for residency go out soon!
I enjoy reading fantasy and science fiction, binge watching a decent show, playing RPG video games, watching college basketball, building lego creations with my kids, cooking, brewing beer and trying micro brews.
