I love words, good conversation, and getting to know people.
Practice makes competency. I practice my writing skills most days through writing poems, short accounts, and essays. I have been published as a poet, essayist, and lyricist.
Daily reading is crucial to my writing. Every day I read articles on the web site of The New York Times. Occasionally, I read the New Yorker, and popular magazines. Very good and great writings introduce us to the perspectives of other people and their cogent descriptions of experiences beyond our own.
For twenty-five years, I worked as a technical writer, followed by seven years in web design and user research tasks.
I earned a BA in English from the State University of New York at Albany, and MS in Human Factors in Information Design from Bentley University (Waltham Massachusetts).
As a child, I thought that I wanted to become a full-time actor. Toward that end, I studied acting and graduated from the School of Performing Arts in Manhattan -- the basis of the movie Fame.
