I have a BA in Biology with and Emphasis in Biological Research and a minor in Chemistry. I have taken several lab courses which have given me a multitude of lab skills, including producing slides, culture plating and organization of chemicals and media used.
While working for Concordia University Irvine and University of Nevada, Las Vegas, I used my lab skills to conduct research and reporting findings to the professor I worked under, and maintained the laboratory that was being used. I was also on faculty as a laboratory instructor, teaching labs and giving lectures to students, discussed safety protocols in the labs and meticulously went through lab procedure during the lab to make sure students obtained accurate results. I also tutored students during my office hours in a multitudes subjects weekly.
In addition to the research that I have been conducting, I have had a small team of students that i have mentored under me as well with the research. We worked together on setting up experiments, collecting and analyzing data and speculating on further experimentation to further the knowledge of what we were researching. I work well with people; either when I am the one giving out what needs to be done, or being told what I need to do to get the job done.
I have also taught a multitude of laboratory classes; biology, microbiology, anatomy, etc. I would hold lectures before the lab and then teach the students the labs for the week so that they could obtain accurate results for experiments they were running.
