Writing is my passion. Reading is my love. I adore words on a page describing the thoughts of a fascinating person. People and words are what interested me in Psychology of which I have a Bachelor's Degree from Howard University. .Psychology taught me about the intricacies of human nature and as such, I have learned how to connect with others rather easily and intimately quickly. This is how I approach my students. I learn their likes and dislikes and treat them as humans first then I can better instruct them toward improving their academic achievements. I work as a teacher's assistant in special education for an autistic student. He is sensory driven and highly passionate about his likes and dislikes. My approach again was to get to know him and I learned he responds visually. So I found online games and made learning fun for him. He is thriving like no one has ever seen before. His mother is thrilled. He is now reading when he once hated chapter books. I learned what he likes and plugged him in to it academically. That's my style. I teach because I love to learn. Teachers are usually the best students. I am a writer and have written a novel and several screenplays. I have a certificate in film and belong to a local screenwriting group. By the Spring I will have my California Substitute Teaching Credential.
