I am a 4th year student at UCLA majoring in molecular, cell, and developmental biology. I have been tutoring inorganic/organic chemistry both at Valley and at Pierce Colleges for about 2 years as well as AP/SAT biology, life sciences, AP calculus and physics for about a year at EdBoost center in Culver City, and private clients for about 2 years now. I am College Reading and Learning (CRLA) certified tutor, which means you can be confident about not only my academic skills but also teaching skills. In May 2015 I received Chemistry award from Pierce College for outstanding performance in General Chemistry. In addition, I have worked at Pierce College Chemistry department as a laboratory technician for a year, where I gained a great experience in the field. I currently work at Donahue lab at David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA as a research assistant. Our lab is primarily focused on studying immune system released factors and their effect on pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma cells. Finally, I have professional fluency in both Russian, and Armenian languages, which makes it possible for me to overcome any language barriers that could hinder the understanding of the subject being tutored.
Deep conceptual understanding of the subject and experience in the field makes it possible for me to make real life connections with any topic of the subject for my students. It is much easier to learn something that is so closely related to our day-to-day life. In my spare time, I enjoy playing piano, soccer, yoga, and snowboarding. I am very enthusiastic about tutoring, and I look forward to working with you.
