I'm UCLA graduate (class of 2018) with a major in molecular, cell, and developmental biology. I have been tutoring inorganic/organic chemistry both at Valley and at Pierce Colleges for about 2 years; AP/SAT biology, life sciences, AP calculus and physics for about a year at EdBoost learning center in Culver City; as well as one-on-one independent tutoring for about 3 years now. I am a College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA) certified tutor, which means you can be confident about not only my academic skills, but also my teaching skills. In May 2015 I received Chemistry award from Pierce College for outstanding performance in General Chemistry. I currently work at Donahue lab at David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA as a research assistant. Our lab is primarily focused on studying immune system released factors and their effect on pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma cells.
During my tutoring sessions I emphasize the conceptual understanding of the subject rather than memorizing. I have professional fluency in both Russian, and Armenian languages, which helps me address the language barriers that could hinder the understanding of the subject. I am very enthusiastic about tutoring, and I look forward to working with you!
