I received my Bachelor of Arts from Vassar College in 2015, where I majored in Italian and French. I also studied Art History, Creative Writing, and Cognitive Science.
Originally from Massachusetts, I am currently conducting linguistics research at UC Berkeley. I have multiple years' experience in teaching children, teens, and adults in a variety of settings. With Varsity Tutors last year, I tutored Elementary-Intermediate adult French and Reading and Writing skills to a third grader, loving both experiences. While at Vassar, I taught a weekly elementary Italian course to fellow college students. I have lived in Italy for a combined three years, during which I have worked with middle- and high school students in both classroom and tutoring settings to improve English language skills. While teaching high school English in Dijon, France, I tutored students ages 6 to adult in English, with a focus on grammar, reading, and conversational skills. My personal passion is all-things languages, and that's what I love to teach as well.
My teaching style is adaptable to the student, but I always strive to incorporate a variety of mediums and facilitate interactive lessons. I speak fluent Italian and French, excel in essay and creative writing, and am definitely a grammar geek. In my free time, I love to go on bike rides, play board games with friends, and try new foods. I also sing and play piano, violin, or ukulele as much as possible! I work seasonally as an active travel guide, leading luxury biking and hiking trips across the US and Europe.
