I became interested in being a private English tutor when I discovered many school-aged students and adults who were studying English as a Second Language (ESL) needed to enhance their English fluency and accuracy, with opportunities to speak with others in an environment that was non-threatening and private. I focus on creating a relaxed environment for various learning styles, that are specific to each client. I help clients to lower anxiety and boost confidence by allowing them to learn to speak English in an environment that is non-threatening, comfortable and private. I understand learning a new language can be very intimidating and challenging. Also, having anxiety about speaking English in front of others can prevent you from retaining important information.

I am a certified teacher in the State of Georgia. I am certified to teach English, Language Arts, Reading, and Social Studies. I have taught at all grade levels (elementary, middle, high school and college). I am an Education Specialist. I specialize in teaching grammar, reading, writing, and speaking the English language. I obtained a Master's Degree (M.Ed), as well as, a Specialist Degree (Ed.S) in Special Education (General Curriculum) from the University of West Georgia. I began teaching in 2001. I have a strong background in Remedial Education/Special Education (General Curriculum), where English/Grammar and Reading is my concentration. My training and experience make me uniquely qualified to teach special populations with language barriers and communication difficulties. I sincerely care about the success of others and realize how quality education can be the key to earning opportunities and creating success.
