I was born and raised in France to a bi-cultural family (USA and France). My father is French and my mother is American. I am really thankful to have grown up in a family that has two cultures, not one more prevalent than the other. Instead, I learned English and French fluently through my parents and I was fortunate enough to travel back-and-forth to the US every other year. After having lived in France through 7th grade, we moved as a family to the Twin Cities in MN for a two-year USA experience at which point I knew I was to live here after high school. My dream and only focus had become THE USA. After two years in MN, my family moved back to France and I went with to finish high school. I lived in a dorm during junior and senior year and I had the opportunity to help out some middle-schoolers with their English classes (sort of like Spanish or French class here). I discovered I loved helping those younger students better understand the grammar, punctuation and spelling of the English language.
Fast forward three years, I am now a junior (though I am taking a year off to work) studying finance, eventually at North Dakota State University. I saw the opportunity to be a French tutor and I got REALLY excited as it brought many high school memories :) I am so incredibly excited to share my knowledge of not only the French language (Youre probably thinking: Man!! Those darn silent letters and youre most definitely not wrong) but also the French culture, which has a special place in my heart! If you want to learn more about castles, cathedrals, food, high school or college le in France or any other topic, LETS TALK!! Id love to discuss those!
In my sessions, I like to emphasize always using French (even if you dont understand sorry :) ), as it is known that the best way to fluency is immersion! I would also be glad to make sessions interesting by using music, films etc.
Last but not least, I would like to share some of my interests. They include photography (my passion I do architecture, landscapes and urban photography in many countries), French gastronomy (the science behind French cooking some of my favorites include lamb, veal, rabbit, fresh oysters, frogs, snails, kangaroo, pigeon, octopus, clams), investments, world travel, my family and church youth groups.
I really hope you pick me to be your tutor, as I am very excited to help out! Thanks!!
