Within my education I received a High School Diploma in June, 2015. Within the current year I have entered my Fall semester as a junior at West Virginia Wesleyan College. I will graduate from WVWC with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and Musical Theatre with a minor in Dance. My future education plans are to attend a one year grad school out-of-state to receive my Master's Degree in Special Education, Comprehension Advisory, and Preschool Education in May, 2020. Finally, I will attend University of Maryland College Park for my Doctor's Degree in Musical Theatre/Dance Physical Therapy. The experience I have with tutoring started with helping my four siblings with homework every school night. I've assisted my Middle School and High School teachers on "Wednesday Help Days" by tutoring students in multiple subjects before school started for the day. Currently, I am now a note taker/tutor for special needs students in my college's Learning Center. However, I also have experience with students by having become a certified Read Aloud and Technology/Computer Adviser. I will be sitting for my exam to be certified as a substitute teacher this year. However, I also have experience with student's in the classroom. I have recently completed my Clinical I and Diagnostic Reading Tools & Strategies courses that have me in a classroom in a public school. I will be taking both Clinical II and Student Teaching next year as well. The subjects that I tutor are all content standards/subjects for preschool, elementary, and middle school. I also teach a few subjects listed in the high school level, but all subjects are listed on my account. However, my favorite subjects to tutor are reading and science because I struggled with reading as a child and had some brilliant tutor's at Silvin's Learning Center to help me develop the skills I am now helping other student's with and making someone else as successful as I am now! I love science because it was always my best subject and I helped all my classmates throughout school. I would describe my teaching philosophy/tutoring style as multi talented because I am easily able to adjust the different learning styles with activities and methods that will help students learn best through their own style. Overall, some of the outside-academic activities I am interested in is Dance Company Gymnastics, Cheerleading, Beauty Pageants, Theatre, Student Organizations, Sororities, Choir, Adventure, Horseback-Riding, Surfing, and Livin' Life and being with my friends and family!
