I am a graduate of Macalester College and am at Northeastern University as a graduate student. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Math and this spring will be earning my Master of Science in College Student Development and Counseling. Since I was in undergrad I have been working primarily in Higher Education as a practitioner while tutoring privately in math and assisting students with college preparation. I am passionate about helping students understand math because there are so many real world applications they can use it for and they develop strong critical thinking and problem solving skills, gain patience, and become more detail orientated. When tutoring I try to get to know the student and connect the material to things they are interested in to keep them engaged. I am a true believer that no one is "bad at math" but they just need to be taught in a different way. The beauty of math, and life in general, is that there are many ways to reach the same solution. In my downtime from school I love to bake, golf, and spend time with my friends and family.
