I adore children and enjoy teaching. After 6 years of teaching experience in China, I would like to expand my capacities as a teacher. I can bring Chinese culture to America and teach American people Chinese. I also have experience working in a summer or winter language camp program. I am enthusiastic to see students learn different languages and different cultures.
Ideally, I would like to be able to utilize my language ability in Mandarin and Cantonese. I am perceptive, and quick to adapt to new environments. I am a strong believer in the positive power of the global community concept and believe that education offers the opportunity to fully participate in creating and affirming shared global values.
For my students, I usually teach children with computers, flashcards and by playing games with them. The average lesson consists of a warm up, the main lesson, two or three games, and review. I finish my classes by singing a song. I know many games and, whenever possible, I try to match them to specific lessons. Although pre-school children generally learn foreign languages in different ways than adults, I believe it is necessary to introduce them to the English language as early as possible so as to ensure their successful future.
I have been studying English for a long time, so I am able to communicate in English in all English-speaking countries, as well as in other parts of the world. I have experience in over 20 countries from various past business trips. In each instance, I was very excited to be a part of a completely different culture.
