My faith In Jesus Christ informs my teaching in ways that extend beyond the discipline of education itself. Or, said another way, I strive to integrate my faith with andragogy in the classroom, or the ways in which I teach my discipline. Although integration may be accomplished in many ways, I find it helpful to concentrate on my teaching role of a shepherd. As a shepherd I mentor students and as a mentor I am responsible for putting my best foot forward, instilling and holding true to the word, as well as values, ethics and accountability. As an Instructor, it is my responsibility to demonstrate behaviors that are consistent with faith, in terms of being accessible, providing guidance, reaching out to and sharing feedback in ways that will help pave the way for better understanding of course content, setting high expectations for performance, and creating a professional classroom setting, all while stimulating my students growth and wellbeing.
