I graduated Cum Laude from Stony Brook University with a Bachelors of Engineering in Biomedical Engineering. I just finished my Masters of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering at Cornell University.
Currently, I am going to work as a Senior Research and Development Engineer at Depuy Synthes, a Johnson and Johnson company. I will be working with the design and testing of medical devices and implants for sports medicine surgery!
I conducted stem cell research for 3 years during my undergraduate career with various regional and national presentations. I proudly was a Peer Mentor for College of Engineering for 2 years and won mentor of the year. I have been awarded many times for my leadership abilities by Stony Brook University during my time there.
I went to Cornell to further satisfy my curiosity to learn, and was able to work on a year project with NASA, creating biomechanical models to understand exercises in long duration space flight.
Throughout the years, I have learned to follow a very specific principle: Seek to understand, then be understood. This focuses on active listening and to truly understand how an individual acts, learns, and what that individual considers their preferences. With this in mind, I am able to properly create a curriculum for tutoring that best fits the individual student, making it heavily personalized. My goal is to make sure that the student not only does well, but truly understands the material, where he or she can apply it outside of the education environment, because that is one someone fully learns it.
I have gained so much in my life due to education and my curiosity to always learn more and excel in my courses and research. I know how much it impacted me, and I only want to share that with others, so that they can do the same!
