I have been a teacher, tutor, coach and mentor in various personal and professional capacities for the majority of my adult life. I have taught and tutored English composition, ACT test strategies, life skills, anger management techniques, screenwriting and more to students of all ages in both classroom settings and online environments. I believe that without exception every student has the capability to excel academically. As a teacher and tutor, it is my job to not only clarify individual assignments but to provide the support and encouragement the student needs to move forward with confidence.
I have a masters degree in education and a masters degree in professional writing. My bachelors degree is in film studies, and I remain a passionate fan of cinema and visual storytelling. I am also a cat person (although I grew up with dogs and have nothing against them), an escape room enthusiast and a freelance game designer.
Although I have the background to tutor a variety of subjects, I have the most experience teaching English composition. I can coach students through all aspects of the writing process from selecting a thesis and developing an outline to revising, polishing and perfecting a draft.
