I am interested in tutoring biology and earth science at the high school level.
I have six years of experience working as a field biologist specializing in mammalian ecology with an additional six years of adjunct teaching biology and environmental science to college students at Virginia Commonwealth University and John Tyler Community College.
My master's degree included a graduate teaching assistantship where I taught Biology 101 laboratory exercises for non-majors at VCU. I also taught six sections of a technical science writing intensive ecology lab. After I graduated, I taught two sections of the Biology 101 lecture as an adjunct professor with a total of 500 students in two classes. I am currently teaching non-majors biology and environmental science at John Tyler Community College.
Although I have a history of traveling extensively, and have collected many fascinating stories to augment my lessons, I would like to continue teaching locally in the greater Richmond area to settle down near my family and friends.
