Hello, my name is Johan (pronounced "Joe-Hahn")
I am a science and French tutor.

My background is in the life sciences (Biology, chemistry, & everything in between). I have recently completed a research-intensive masters specializing in infectious diseases and genetics, and I am currently taking a year off before going off to medical school. I have a lot of experience with introductory biology, chemistry, and psychology (equivalent to AP Chemistry, AP Bio, and AP Psych).
I am also fluent in French, having lived in France for the early part of my life.
My teaching philosophy is based on my experience as a student. I went from being a mediocre student (mostly C's) to getting straight A's in graduate level courses. To be a better learner, one has to focus more on working smart than working hard, developing proper study habits is crucial. I hope to be able to help students who are struggling like I once was and help guide them to academic success.
Our sessions will not only focus on making the concepts as clear as possible, but also to help develop habits and study techniques specifically tailored to the student.
