I grew up learning and studying Spanish from middle school on and I can still remember how excited I was (and still am!) to understand and communicate in another language!
I continued my studies of the language throughout high school and in college, and eventually graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture along with a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from the University of Oklahoma. During my final year of school, I studied abroad in Madrid, Spain and lived with a Spanish family. This process of total immersion was important for me and really pushed me forward in becoming fluent in the language.
I began tutoring while living in Spain while trying to make some extra money doing something I really enjoyed. I tutored a couple of high school students in English, and really started to understand the process of teaching someone a foreign language.
I am passionate about helping others and I also learn well through teaching! I am a huge fan of Spanish language and especially love Latin American culture and literature. I enjoy working these elements into my lessons with students to further enrich and add context to the lesson.
It is important to me to identify students' goals and work on these in a comprehensive learning plan so we can highlight key milestones together.
