I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2016. During my time at the university, I took advantage of the excellent study abroad program to spend a semester each in Puebla, Mexico and Cuenca, Spain. I have traveled extensively and during the 2016-17 school year I worked as an English language and cultural assistant in a public school in Spain, where I also taught private English classes to both adults and children. During my time abroad I have greatly advanced my Spanish language skills, reaching near-fluent status. (I say “near-fluent” because language learning is an ongoing process that is never completed, even in your own language.) As a native English speaker, I have encountered many of the common pitfalls that English speakers experience when learning Spanish and can help you reframe your thinking to enhance learning and understanding, while sharing my passion for Spanish and Latin American cultures. Possessing patience and understanding, I strive to provide my students with the personalized instruction they need to succeed. In my spare time, I enjoy traveling, photography and relaxing with my dogs.
