My name is Ivette and I am a college graduate from California State University, Northridge. I just completed my first year as a Third Grade Teacher and I am working on my Master's Degree in Elementary Education. Working as a third grade teacher gave me more insight into tutoring students. As a Third Grade Teacher, I created lesson plans, aligned with current state and district standards, which drives instruction through formative assessment and differentiation. As a teacher I established relationships with students, parents, staff, and community members by communicating in a tactful, courteous, and confidential manner. Provided consistent, immediate feedback to student learning and asks analytical questions that elicit students responses that incorporate prior knowledge, real world experiences and interest that are directly related to the content objective. Therefore, I understand the importance of academics, communication, organizational, interpersonal, management, research and planning skills. Not only are all these parts significant, but the key to help struggling students excel in academics.

Tutoring has been a passion of mine since I was a teenager but I really got into the business during college. Math can be very challenging for many and I know this first hand from tutoring many students. Math has been my passion since I was in elementary school and I have found it my duty to help others who are struggling because coming from a low income environment I know how difficult it can be to obtain the help/resources someone needs to excel in academics. I always give 110 percent in everything that I am required to do which has always made me stand out from the rest. I am always open to learning new things and applying my knowledge and experience in everything I do in life.
