I was born in Akron, OH, and my family moved to Quito, Ecuador when I was nine. It was there that I began to learn Spanish, resulting in fluency through living there for 10+ years. After high school, I attended Indiana Wesleyan University where I majored in Technical Theatre and Media Communication. I graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2014, and currently work as the Technical Director for a large church on the northwest side of Indianapolis.
My hobbies include reading, running, watching movies, hanging out with my dog Jackson, and working on computers (anything technology, really!)
Through my job, I have developed a leadership style known as "Maximizing." This means that I find my leadership most effective through putting the right people in the right place, and guiding them to a common goal. This is also how I view tutoring. When working with me, I'll attempt to find the best way for a student to understand potentially confusing concepts. Everyone learns different, and it's a matter of finding what works best for retention.
I am extremely excited to work with students in their language-learning efforts! I have found that speaking another language with confidence not only has helped me in the professional world, but has also helped in my day-to-day activities!
