I have a Specialist degree in Teaching and Learning from Piedmont College, a Master's degree in Interrelated Education from The University of West Georgia and a Bachelor’s degree in Special Education from the University of West Georgia. I am currently a middle school teacher in Oconee County. I have been an elementary school special education teacher for 14 years and a middle school special education Language Arts teacher for the past two years. I have experience with students in all different settings and in all subject areas. I have always loved teaching and am passionate about working with kids of all ages. I also have previous experience as a tutor with elementary age students.
I believe that a great tutor is helpful, kind and encouraging as well as a positive influence on a child. I feel an effective tutor also changes her teaching style to meet the needs of the child if her original style is not working. Making learning fun and engaging for the child is a very important component of tutoring. It is so important for the child to feel successful and display self confidence in himself or herself.
I enjoy spending time with my husband and four young children. I also enjoy reading, working out, scrapbooking and baking.
