I am a Junior Psychology student at Valparaiso University, a small liberal arts school in Indiana. Last semester, I completed my Japanese minor at Kansai Gaidai University in Osaka, Japan. A solid education is the backbone of my life. I currently tutor through Spanish 3 and ACT Reading/English. I love to help individuals overcome the struggles I had with comprehending the wide range of information taught in school, and explaining concepts to other people gives me new insight each time. I have experience tutoring 6th grade math, as well as my high school calculus class during our teacher's absence. I have a thorough, methodical approach to tutoring coupled with affirming one's ability to improve. I firmly believe that everyone is capable of succeeding academically with the correct instructor, good study habits, and self-confidence. I like to stress that one's talents in a subject are not fixed-I struggled with math, but with a lot of hard work and patient help I overcame much of it, even though it wasn't my favorite subject! On the other hand, I enjoy traveling a lot, which may explain why I love tutoring languages like Spanish and English so much. Outside of class, I enjoy ballroom dancing and exercising, reading a good fantasy novel, and spending time with my friends.
