My name is Zach and I'm currently a third-year student at the George Washington University pursuing a double major in Economics and Statistics. I have been tutoring students from grades 9-12 for the past three years in subjects such as Calculus, pre-Calculus, SAT Math, and AP Economics, amongst other topics.
My passion for tutoring is inspired by my childhood experiences with mathematics, when at a young age, I struggled to grasp basic mathematical concepts. Over the years, thanks to the help of other tutors, I've been able to transform math from my weakest subject into one of my strongest, and have well outpaced my peers in high school, where I finished the highest level of math offered (Calculus II) as a sophomore. My goal as a tutor is to show other students with similar struggles that anyone can succeed at math, statistics, and economics.
With each student, I take an individualized approach that encourages a dialogue to help the student better understand and reinforce their weak points. Ultimately, nothing makes me happier than seeing a student become confident in their critical thinking and quantitative skills, and this is something I hope to accomplish as a Varsity tutor!
