I can remember being in elementary school with the smell of the new pencils, the bright autumn sun shining through the window and the excitement that hung densely in the air when the teacher was preparing to teach us something brand new. I can remember thinking then and there that I wanted to be a teacher, that I wanted to be the one that put smiles on my students faces. I wanted to inspire my students to love learning and to have a hunger for it. My ultimate aim is to help my students achieve their goals, for my students to be excited when they learn new concepts and for them to desire to learn more each day.
I have my bachelors degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus on teaching students that are English language learners. I am certified to teach as an elementary teacher from early childhood through 6th grade. I am currently working with Keller ISD as a substitute teacher and I have taught everything from 6th grade writing to Kindergarten science. I am also very familiar with many different standardized tests including the STAAR, ACT, SAT and the TExES teacher tests.
Thank you for considering me as a tutor. I hope we get to work together to develop your skills and help you grow in your love of learning.
