I understand the humility that comes with seeking individual academic attention. It is truly humbling to work with students from all walks of life, and with different cognitive abilities. It is my intention to find the best way in which I can help students achieve their academic goals - whether that be in math, the sciences, or any subject that sparks their interests and desire to learn!
I realized I wanted to get much more involved in tutoring right after graduating from U.C. Davis with my B.S. in Exercise Biology. During my undergraduate years, I realized the importance of asking for help when I needed it most - my grades meant everything to me, but I often times found myself too shy to ask for help! Once I overcame this fear, I realized there must be countless others who could succeed once overcoming their fears as well!
Aside from pursuing an Masters Degree, I also enjoy doing martial arts (Krav Maga!), cycling, hiking, reading, and staying politically involved at the local and state level!
I also should mention that I have two younger brothers, both of whom I absolutely adore! Granted they are now in their early twenties, I still have an older sister complex, whereas I am very protective of them! One of my brothers have a learning disability, but my determination to see him succeed has led to develop a patience that I only hope others provide for him as well. With that being said, I make it a priority to make sure my students know they will receive nothing less than the individualized student centered attention they deserve - I've proved this time and time again with the students I've worked with, whether that was one on one or in groups of 20-30 students. I yearn to see my students thrive, for that is what truly brings me happiness.
