I am passionate about helping students because I know personally the struggle and frustration that one feels when they completely don't understand something. I want to be the one to help students go, "a-ha!" when finally grasping a topic fully. Throughout my education, I could be found helping my classmates (or, in the case of college, my floor-mates) with their algebra or calculus.
I went to high school in Fridley, Minnesota, and I currently attend the University of Minnesota, Morris as a mathematics major. I plan to graduate in 2019 with my B.A. and go on to do graduate studies in mathematics. I traditionally tutor in mathematical subjects- often through Calculus III. My favorite content to tutor is pre-calculus, since the understanding of that content is integral to understanding content in higher-level courses, like calculus, discrete math, and linear algebra. I've learned in my time tutoring that everyone can grasp what they want to grasp, but different people require different approaches when learning content. Some people are simply more physically-oriented and require real-life examples to understand mathematical topics, whereas some people like to see topics in visuals, and others like to hear about them.
I am a laid-back person with many interests, including exercising, reading, hanging out with my friends, and performing/listening to music. At school, you could find me exercising in the morning, at class in the afternoon, and studying with my friends on the quad in the evening. Occasionally, I work at the on-campus coffee shop as a barista.
