My learning background is diverse. My first degree was a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and French; obtaining that required a year each of study in Spain and France. Upon graduation I worked in South America for three years, so I have had extensive language immersion. I taught individual English courses when I lived overseas. Most of my career, however, has been in a completely different field--nursing. I obtained a Master of Science in Nursing mostly because I wanted to teach. I have taught several years at the university level and continue to teach clinical groups even as I work as a practicing nurse. I'm a little older now and have had a rich life that has included travel to many parts of the world. This would not have been possible without an education. For this reason I am passionate about sharing my knowledge to help others achieve what I have been able to do. One of my hobbies is singing barbershop music in a chorus, something to help me keep life balance.
