Education is my passion. Teaching is my vocation. I have been an educator for 10 years. I received my Bachelors degree in Childhood Education from Fordham University and my Masters degree in Childhood Education, as well as a degree in Bilingual Education from CUNY Queens College, both in New York City.
I have had the privilege of working with children from Pre-K-6th grade. Having instructed children from diverse age groups has given me an understanding of the scope and sequence of skills and strategies that students need as they advance from grade to grade.
Being a bilingual teacher, who is fluent in Spanish, has also afforded me opportunities to work with English Language Learners, as well as Second Language Learners.
Being an elementary school teacher, I have taught all subject matters. I would be able to provide tutoring in Pre-Reading, Reading, Phonics, Writing, Grammar, Mathematics, as well as Spanish language instruction. My favorite subject to tutor is reading. I absolutely love giving students strategies that, once applied, build their confidence and nurtures their love of reading. There is no greater reward for me as an educator than to see a child who was once struggling, begin to feel competent and confident about themselves and their subject matter.
My motto for learning is: We are all beginners at some point. No one is born knowing everything. We are always learning something new. Everything we learn takes practice to master. Have patience with yourself and try your best!
