I am a second year student at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) studying economics and English with a concentration in creative writing. I have received multiple honors at UCLA, including Deans Honors for receiving a GPA above 3.75 for two quarters. I have also held various leadership roles in UCLA student organizations; these positions include President of the Ackerman Solar Project, Marketing and Membership Chair of the Renewable Energy Association, and Art Chair of the Art Science Undergraduate Society. These positions have helped me develop my communication skills and teamwork abilities.
In high school, in addition to graduating as valedictorian, I received passing scores on all 10 AP Exams that I took and received the AP Scholar with Distinction award. Of these exams, I received a score of 5 in the following subjects: English Language and Composition, United States History, English Literature and Composition, Spanish Language and Culture, and Studio Art (2-D Design.) I also received a score of 2350 on the SAT, with individual scores of 800 in Writing, 780 in Reading, and 770 in Math. My success with these exams is the result of my mastery of the material and knowledge of test strategies. My academic experiences provide me with the skills to be an effective tutor.
