I grew up in a mixed (half Panamanian-half Wisconsin), Air Force family where I spent the majority of my life in North Dakota. I graduated high school from Minot High School in 2010, and later from the University of North Dakota (UND) in 2015. During my time at UND, I studied abroad in Bilbao, Spain for a semester, started my music career (Hip Hop - MC - DJ), and double-majored in Spanish and Business Economics, as well as a minor in International Business. I stayed busy.
While living in the Basque Country (Bilbao), I tutored two young students in their understanding of the English language. My mother is a high school Spanish teacher, so teaching runs deep. Furthermore, my first "real job" after college was working as a Paraprofessional, at the high school that I went to, working with students in the English Language Learners (ELL) department. I helped kids from all over the world (the majority Spanish-speaking) become part of the Minot community, while also help teach the class lessons (not many Spanish speaking faculty members in a place like Minot, ND) and develop strategies with teachers in order to fully accommodate each and every student. For almost two school years, this experience made me fully realize the power of knowledge and the development of the learning process.
Lastly, interests of mine include: digging through crates at local record shops, traveling around the globe, and experiencing local treasures.
