My name is Timothy Scafaria, and I am a Biochemistry/Finance major on the pre-med track at the University of Miami. I have many years of tutoring experience, and I would love to continue my passion of learning and helping others on a larger scale. When I tutor, I always value the importance of having students leave each session forming long term memory of the material through active learning. I believe this approach cuts down on rote memorization of information, which is not only stressful, but also a boring approach to learning. In my own schooling, my favorite subjects are in math and science, however, writing is also something I truly enjoy. My goal after medical school is to become an ER physician and a member of Doctors Without Borders as I love to combine helping people, the excitement of new experiences everyday, and travel. I also look forward to one day implementing what I learn from my finance degree, whether I combine it with healthcare or move on to banking.
