I am a student with a BS in Aerospace Engineering. I worked for a time as an engineer but discovered that engineering was not for me. I have always wanted to teach and decided to get my teacher's credential to teach high school science. I am registering for prerequisites in the Fall of 2017 and am currently taking some classes at the junior college to brush up on my Spanish and to get some background in child development.
I tutored a little bit in high school but most of my experience helping students has been as a student myself. As an engineering student I was able to work closely with groups and individuals taking the same classes that I was and I always found that collaborative environment helpful. It is that type of collaboration that I hope to bring to tutoring.
I believe that most students struggle with subjects because they were never given the opportunity to fully grasp more basic concepts. My goal in our first session will be to determine exactly what underlying concepts you are struggling with and then customizing our tutoring sessions to address those weaknesses.
I look forward to working with you.
